The Johannesburg Area of Narcotics Anonymous comprises over 100 groups across Southern Gauteng. Our groups can be found carrying the message on West Rand District, Sedibeng District, City of Ekurhuleni Metro, and City of Johannesburg Metro.
JHB NA provides a variety of services to the groups and addicts including Hospitals and Institutions, Fellowships Development, Fellowship Development Online, Telephone Line, Literature, Website, Events, Policy, Public Relations, Treasury and Translations. JASC is committed to supporting the fellowship in fulfilling its primary activity whilst helping groups carry out their primary activity, hold regular recovery meetings.
What is the Johannesburg Areas Service Committee?
It is a committee made up of the Group Service Representatives (GSRs) or their duly appointed alternatives, Area Service Committee Officer Bearers, and Subcommittee Chairs.
What is the purpose of this meeting?
- To support the NA groups in the pursuit of our primary purpose;
- To provide a forum for NA groups and NA meetings;
- To help the NA groups with their unique needs and situations; and
- To encourage the growth of the NA Fellowship in Johannesburg.
Our Ninth Tradition states:
“NA, as such ought never be organised, but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.”
Accordingly, the JASC service board or committee is directly responsible to those it serves, being the groups in Johannesburg Area. In the interests of clarity; the same is true of service committees in the JASC structure.
